The trail began in a maze of cross-country ski trails around Mount Shark. The trail description said to take the first right, and when the trail turned west, head for the lake. It turned out to be a bit more complicated than that. The cross-country ski trails meandered up and down, left and right. Fortunately, around the time we were beginning to think there would never be an opportunity to reach the lake, we found a trail through the forest toward a clearing. Thankfully this took us down to the shore of the Spray Lake.
