Mount Buller [2805m].
This mountain honours Major Herbert Cecil Buller (1882-1916), who had been aide-de-camp to the Governer General of Canada from 1911-1914. He received the DSO (Distinguished Service Order) in 1915 but was killed later in fighting near Zillebeke, Belgium.
There was a prescribed forest fire burn along the southern slopes of Mount Buller between 2010 and 2011. You can see some of the burned areas in this photo.
