Jasper Trip 2012
Jasper National Park
July 20-22, 2012

Shawn and Jenn took Shawn's mom Bev to Jasper to celebrate a milestone birthday in 2012.

We visited both Sunwapta Falls and Athabasca Falls. Record snowfall, late spring runoff, and a lot of recent rain had the Sunwapta and Athabasca Rivers carrying a lot of water. We have never seen those two waterfalls with so much water flowing over them - it was a sight to see!

We tried to hike to Horseshoe Falls, which would have worked had we brought our swimsuits - the trail was under a half metre of water!

Following that diversion, we made our way up to Mount Edith Cavell and made a quick jaunt up the Mount Edith Cavell Path of the Glacier Trail.

The following day we went up the Jasper Tramway and made the quick summit of The Whistlers (trip report located here: www.shawnbenbow.ca/Whistlers), and then visited Pyramid Lake before heading home.
