View from Emerald Lake of the southern ridge of the Vice President.

Michael Peak [2696m] is the high point on the right side of the ridge. Michael Peak was named by Edward Whymper in 1901. Arthur Michael was a chemistry professor from Boston and a prominent member of the American Alpine Club. He was part of the group that made the first ascents of Mount Lefroy and Mount Victoria in 1897.
